In preparation for our  Remembrance , we had an enrichment day focussing on the importance of Peace and Forgiveness. The children explored the life of  St Oscar Romero, the WWI Christmas Truce and the Parable of the Lost Sheep. The cross-curricular learning inspired so many of the children to reflect on their own attitudes towards peace and forgiveness. ‘I enjoyed learning about the Romero Cross and how the pictures around the image of Jesus, reflect the communities of El Salvador.’ ‘In my Romero Cross, I drew my house, my school and my family and used bright colours like the real ones.’ 

The whole school paused and reflected reverently as they laid their poppies.
