Year 1 have had the opportunity to practise their handwriting skills this week in a way you might not expect! 

The year group borrowed a large set of brass rubbings from Northampton District Scouts. Tracing over the brass gave the children an opportunity to strengthen their fingers and to develop and maintain their fine motor skills - all essential for handwriting!

The dinosaurs and the unicorn were particular favourites and the knight rubbing continued the Year 1 topic of Kings and Queens.
One pupil said "I want to do the knight brass rubbing because I'm friends with Jesus."
