Year 2 - Dinosaur Topic

The children thoroughly enjoyed the topic of ‘Dinosaurs’ and the learning surrounding the theme, they have produced some amazing pieces of written work in many curriculum areas.  They have written instructions for ‘How to look after a dinosaur’ and story writing based on the book ‘Tom and the Island of Dinosaurs’.  Year 2 have also enjoyed learning about the discoveries of the famous fossil hunter Mary Anning.

On 22nd of November Year 2 had a Dinosaur Workshop, they took on the role of fossil hunters taking part in paleontological digs to discover fossils from different types of animals from millions of years ago.   The morning ended with a whole school assembly and two surprise visitors In morning assembly the whole school were excited to receive a visit from two allosaurus dinosaurs, a baby called Chewy and his older sister Molly.
