STCCAT Advent Service
We have been lucky enough to be invited to take part in two Advent Services in Northampton this week. The first, on Monday 10th December, was held at Christchurch for The Bible Society, an organisation which aims to provide the opportunity to bring the Bible to everybody across the world. The evening was a great success with pupils from St Gregory’s reading and students from Northampton School for Girls providing the music. The Year 5s and 6s worked hard to prepare their readings and read clearly and confidently to a busy church, demonstrating why St Gregory’s has been asked to supply readers for this event for the past ten years. This year’s readers were congratulated on their clarity and confidence by Father Andrew and many members of the congregation.
Mrs Darwin, our Trust Chaplain, along with Mrs Rolph, organised a wonderful Advent service for the four schools in the Trust, which was held at the Cathedral on Tuesday evening. Miss Jackson, Mr Boshell and Miss Harrison worked hard to prepare our wonderful choir for the event and all of the children performed wonderfully on the night alongside the choirs from St Mary’s, The Good Shepherd and Thomas Becket, taking care to keep their eyes on Miss Jackson at all times as she was the conductor of the whole choir!
The service was based on the Jesse Tree and, once again, the children who read – our Ethos Team – were excellent. They were calm and confident and, once again, were complimented on their wonderful behaviour and reverence during the event. Fr Mark, the Dean of the Cathedral, particularly commented on how inspirational the children were in their efforts that evening.
