Year 1 - Fire Service Visit

On Wednesday 5th October 2016, Year 1 were visited by Liz from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue.  Liz talked to us about the jobs that firefighters do like putting out fires, retrieving cats from trees and cutting people out of cars when they've been in a car crash.  After that, Liz told us how we can stay safe by not playing with dangerous objects like matches.  Raheem was chosen to dress up in boots, blue trousers, a big coat and a yellow helmet like a real fire fighter!

Afterwards, we were shown a teddy bear that had been burned in a fire.  It was very rough and not nice to touch.  Finally, we asked some questions.  We had a brilliant afternoon learning about the Fire and Rescue Service!
