We Will Remember Them

Throughout our school on Remembrance Day pupils took part in activities to reflect and remember soldiers, service men and women who died or were wounded.  We remembered a war that took place a hundred years ago.  We remembered people today that are caught up in wars, all over the world.  We remembered that good can come out of bad, and enemies can become friends.

Pupils in Foundation Stage joined together in painting a poppy with their finger prints.

Year 4 wrote poems inspired by their learning of World War One.

Remember

The shooting of guns as the rain pours,

The soldiers get up and fight in wars.

We sit down for 2 minutes and,

Remember.

The soldiers fight for what is right,

And try to make our futures bright.

We sit down for 2 minutes and,

Remember.

At the end Germany went down to the least,

But then the soldiers all made peace.

We sit down for 2 minutes and,

Remember.

When all the other plants let their hope go,

The poppies didn’t give up and started to grow.

We sit down for 2 minutes and,

Remember.

Most of the soldiers died, that made us sad,

But because of their bravery we should be glad.

We sit down for 2 minutes and,

Remember.
