St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School

Year 2's School Mission Project

As part of their school missions project this year, the year 2 classes are writing a prayer for somebody different every month.  We saw their project launch last year with a prayer for children in hospital.

We are doing this because Jesus said: ‘I tell you therefore: everything you ask and pray for, believe that you have it, already, and it will be yours.’

The children will pray this prayer in school each day.  It would be great if you could include it in the prayers you say with your children at home, especially if they are in year 2.

For the month of March the children wrote a prayer for those who are homeless.

Dear God our Saviour,

Please provide warm shelter for the poor and homeless,

Please make sure they have thoughtful friends all around them,

Keep them safe from strangers and out of harm’s way,

Please provide them with food and water to keep them healthy,

Bless them with happiness, joy and peace,

Please ensure that they have warm clothing to wear,

Help them to persevere and have hope for a better future,

Please guard them at night when the sky is black and in the morning let the sunbeams shine upon them,

Give them your unconditional love and protection,

Amen.

St Gregory, pray for us.
