Head's Welcome - Ethos & Values
I'm delighted that you have decided to find out more about our school and hope that you find all that you need here on our website.
I have had the privilege of leading St Gregory’s since September 2016 and can testify to the fabulous school community that it is. In fact, our last RE Inspection noted that ‘pastoral care is very good and pupils value being in a friendly environment where they feel supported and safe.’
Please take some time to look through the examples of work that our children have completed and some evidence of the extra-curricular activity we take part in too. We are proud of all of our children and are pleased to be able to show you how hard they work every day.
We welcome visits so that you can see for yourself the calm, productive atmosphere that surrounds our children as they develop in their knowledge, skills and understanding. Please make an appointment with our office staff should you wish to visit our school. If your child already attends St Gregory’s please keep an eye out for invitations to come in and see the work your child is doing.
Deciding where to educate your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make as a parent. It is where they will cultivate their first friendships, develop independence and begin their academic journey. You need to feel confident and comfortable that the school you choose to send your child to loves, challenges and supports your child in the way that you do, and that they will do everything that they can to ensure that your child becomes all that they are capable of being.
At St Gregory’s we will ensure that your child achieves their potential academically and pastorally, through a range of classwork and exciting extra-curricular activity. Our staff will work in partnership with you, ensuring that your child’s engagement in education continues both in school and outside of school.
The Catholic Church calls us all to be saints: to know and understand our faith and to live it out in such a way as to model the values that Christ taught us and demonstrated for us; to be the best version of ourselves in terms of how we live our lives; and to recognise and become who we have been created to be.
At St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School, this is our mission. Our purpose is to offer your child whatever opportunities and experiences they need to help them to discover, explore who and how they are called to be and to grow in this calling.
We provide a forum for your child to meet and interact with other children on the same journey, hoping to provide lifelong friendships that will support and challenge your child into their teens, and beyond, as they grow and develop their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
